Egypt is one of our primary countries from which we import grapes and citrus. The knowledge of our Egyptian growers about growing grapes on the highest level, assures us of premium quality grapes for the coming years. Recently our colleagues Corne van de Klundert, Nitin Ingale and Pascal Holla, visited the country as the new season is about to start, looking into the expectations of the season but also the possibilities for our own brand Sunpride.

About Sunpride
Differentiation on the shelf requests for specific attention regarding taste and quality specifications, variety selection and packaging options. For the past few years, we have been offering a selection of our product range under the Sunpride label, including mandarins, oranges, limes and grapes. The products are available in distinctive packaging options, such as girsac with branded bands, paper bags and 500 grams punnets with label. To keep focus on differentiation from other products, we continuously seek for better varieties and discuss with our growers options to improve taste and quality even more and develop Sunpride together.

Trust leads to a joint result
“Improving the personal connection with our growers is always very important to us”, starts Corne when looking back on his trip. “Especially at the start of a new season we prefer to meet our growers in person and discuss together the potential of the coming season. During this trip we noticed that the production looks very good with fruits of good quality and very good taste. Our growers showed us various new varieties and after tasting it assured us even more about the positive expectations for the coming season.
Expectations for this grape season
"We're at the starting point of a very good Egyptian season," says Corne about the supply from Egypt. "Growers are very positive about availability, production, and quality, giving us confidence that there will be sufficient volumes to meet our customers' programs. As for Sunpride, together with our growers, we will continue to develop the product range and packaging, further strengthening the category in stores."
